About this manual
Shore House Pipes is a plumbing manual for owners of shore houses on the South Jersey coast, written as procedures you can follow on the day, with every figure linked to the agency or maker that published it.
How the procedures are written
Each procedure covers one job at one time of year. Your steps are short and checkable. Steps that belong to a licensed plumber, an electrician or a utility are marked PRO and described so you know what to ask for, not taught. The safety rules do not change between pages: if you smell gas or a carbon monoxide alarm sounds, everyone leaves first, nobody touches switches or phones inside, and the call to 911 and the gas utility is made from outside.
Where the facts come from
Federal and state agencies (FEMA, CDC, EPA, the U.S. Department of Energy, the CPSC, New Jersey's Department of Community Affairs and Department of Environmental Protection), utilities serving the shore, and county emergency managers. Sources are listed at the foot of each page and were rechecked on October 31, 2026. Where official sources disagree, the page says which advice it follows and why.
Who writes it
The pages are written and checked by the editors of this site. No named experts, reviews or testimonials appear here, because none were gathered.
What this site is not
It is not a plumbing company and does no work on houses. It has no phone line, takes no bookings and gives no quotes. For permits, licences and local rules, the town's construction office and the state agencies linked on each page have the final word.
Who owns the site, and the stores it links to, is set out on Owners and store links.
